I can’t believe I’ve been blogging for a year now! Actually it’s been just over a year. I was hesitant about celebrating because I felt that my blog didn’t measure up to some of the awesome blogs I read everyday. Blogging can be very isolating, there isn’t a boss coming around saying good job (that’s me), no coworkers to run my ideas by or celebrate with and, in the case of a new blog especially, there are not many readers leaving comments. So it’s easy to wonder/worry that my content is not up to par.

This woe is me approach turns out to be neither productive nor effective. So I thought about the reasons why I wanted to start blogging and what I’ve actually accomplished this year.
My reasons to start this blog were two-fold. One, to have a creative outlet and two, to keep current with technology. I’ve been a stay at home mom for quite a few years, but I still have skills worth sharing! Blogging seemed like an exciting platform to merge these two ideas together. I actually wrote a little mission statement to help define my vision.
I make stuff- I am a creative.
To use my love of making stuff to create a space to learn and grow my computer, photography, and technical skills. To create a resume of sorts for future employers that will showcase my love of learning, staying current with technology, writing styles and the ability to build online relationships with my readers.
Check, Check and Check! To some degree I have accomplished this. Am I the authority on all things blogging? Not at all. It’s been a year of learning, researching, frustration and excitement; so much more to learn and so many more ideas to share!
I have received some very nice emails from readers. It’s been a pleasure getting to know people who share common interests.
I am so looking forward to the coming year. I have many more projects, ideas and thoughts to share. If you read this blog and like it please consider sharing it with others. And leave comments, I love comments!
